Zira and JuJu Demo

Saturday, July 6th, 2013

I’ve created a quick Zira and JuJu demo on soundcloud - https://soundcloud.com/vacoloco/sledgehammer-theme-zira-juju It’s the theme from SledgeHammer, written by Danny Elfman. Zira is doing all the synth duties (multi-tracked) and JuJu is on drums. Don’t forget you can buy Zira whilst stocks last direct from our webstore

JuJu gets pitch shift

Wednesday, April 3rd, 2013

I’m please to say that JuJu now has adjustable Volume, Pan and pitch control for each sound. https://soundcloud.com/vacoloco/juju-pitch-demo This is me adjusting the handclap and cowbell pitch.

JuJu Update

Tuesday, March 19th, 2013

Things are moving along with JuJu, each voice can now be panned and you can change the pitch of each sound. I’ll be doing some demos once I’ve got the extra MIDI processing in to handle this. There’s still a lot of work to do yet, including adding the open/closed hihat (triggering an closed hihat […]

JuJu gets dynamics

Sunday, March 10th, 2013

I’ve now managed to add velocity to each sound in JuJu, controllable from MIDI velocity of course. In this demo, as with previous ones, I’ve got Tron (my drum pattern programmer) controlling JuJu. https://soundcloud.com/vacoloco/juju-v4-velocity-demo This was actually quite a lot of effort, and required me to work out how to do quick, efficient, signed multiplies […]

JuJu MIDI

Friday, March 1st, 2013

I’ve managed to resolve the issue with JuJu missing MIDI notes, it’s sound great now and I’m enjoying playing with it way too much! https://soundcloud.com/vacoloco/juju-v4-midi-fixed Again, triggered from Tron

JuJu goes polyphonic

Tuesday, February 26th, 2013

I’ve finally managed to get eight voices into JuJu! The demo below demonstrates JuJu playing 7 of the Linn sounds (I didn’t have any more loaded) and is using a very basic and rudimentary MIDI parser, so it does sometimes miss a MIDI note, but that will get fixed, for now I just wanted to test the sample […]

JuJu gets more sounds

Wednesday, February 13th, 2013

Well, I wanted to add some more sounds, mostly so I can test the triggering of multiple voices when I get to adding them, I mean, if I had 8 voices all playing a bass drum, how would I know it was 8 or 1? So, I’ve added some more sounds from the Linn Drum, […]

The return of JuJu

Tuesday, February 12th, 2013

I’ve managed to finally get a new version of JuJu started. JuJu has been through three hardware revisions and four software revisions. The main reason for this has been the lack of speed when it comes to grabbing the drum samples, manipulating them and then playing them back. Doing one voice is easy, doing 8, […]

JuJu, the return

Sunday, January 13th, 2013

Whilst waiting for some parts to arrive for GorF-XL and Zira, I decided to pick up an old project, JuJu. JuJu was to be a drum brain, but playing back samples from things like the Linn drum and Oberheim DMX. The problem I had with JuJu was that I wasn’t able to get the samples […]

JuJu Lives!!!

Tuesday, September 13th, 2011

JuJu is finally making sounds, after weeks of hassle and prep… This is still early days, and the samples are very quiet so I had to bump up the gain to get them recorded (hence the background noise), but they’re there and sounding really good. Sounds are on Synth.net here – http://synth.net/m/sounds/browse/album/JuJu/owner/VacoLoco
